Jamie Sutherland’s ethnicity consist of being born in Canada with West-Indian roots from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Born and raised in the community of Jane & Finch, he developed his sense of identity and values. Over the past 20 plus years, Jamie has journeyed alongside many families, children/youth, individuals and couples from various walks of life. These include diverse cultures; socio-economic backgrounds; faiths; Mental Health concerns and learning challenges throughout Toronto, the GTA and Internationally.
Jamie’s passion to build communities has led him to help with processing grief, addictions, mental health, interpersonal and intrapsychic concerns. He has also built community through facilitation and program development for the Partner Abuse Response Program (PAR), Caring Dad’s from a Narrative Therapy orientation, SNAP for Youth, SNAP School Based Model, and developed the Breakfast with Dad’s Program in Jane and Finch.
Jamie understands the importance of developing strong relationships, being in community and building resilience. Jamie succeeds in his efforts to train, teach, motivate, encourage and support families as he continues his purpose creating access to information by helping to increase peoples’ quality of living. From years of working with families, he holds true that everyone has the potential to overcome that which they desire.
